Funny and sad. Sad because he shelved many of his promises to constituents quite early in his presidency and many of those he kept suck anyway.

Indeed, like the one regarding Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Grr, I'm so pissed at him concerning that. I mean it isn't like it takes that much work to get it fixed!

like the one regarding Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

That particular one is not on my list , but I would imagine there's enough disappointment on a wide variety of topics for everyone to go around.

Indeed.

Wondering if the nature of the source is lost on some posters.

Yeah, we know it is the Onion...even parodies can have a grain of truth in them, in fact it is a requirement if it is going to be funny or not.

Oh I know the nature of the source, but does that imply that a serious discussion of the topic cannot take place? I like to think that I'm not mentally impaired, and I doubt Nitro does either.

I'm not offended SN, your post didn't come off that way to me. I figure you're just keeping it real. Maybe I should have commented more on the parody too. I found it funny (it might offend some), but it wouldn't surprise me too much if the president didn't base his policy of such types of encounters!

Neither am I, it's just that one would assume there's enough intelligence between the two of us so that his comment wasn't really needed, to an extent. Then again, everyone can say whatever they what. *shrugs*

even parodies can have a grain of truth in them

Precisely.

Well, I am at work so couldn't actually watch the video; so I was not sure how obvious the specific parody was. Also, I am sure there are tons of people still out there unaware of The Onion, and on a rare occasion it can have very deadpan-serious delivery...much like the comments both of you posted. Not trying to insult anyone's intelligence; but with politics people throw some pretty wild stuff out there, so much so that the Onion can (on occasion) almost sound reasonable.

Very true.

It's all good mate; have a  on me.

Now that is truly scary right there.

I prefer the transparent one. His concept of a transparent Administartion is so transparent you can't even see the transparency.

To each their own.
